I No Like It

We hear this all day long from Mr.Carson .....

Mama: "It's naptime"
Carson: "I No Like It"

Mama: "Mmmm, Yummy Sandwich"
Carson: "I No Like It"

Mama: "Say goodbye to Miss Jesse, so we can go home now"
Carson: "I No Like it"

Mama: "Halloween is over and we have to wait to go Tricky Treating until next year"
Carson: "I No Like it"

Daddy: "Okay, Carson it's time for bed"
Carson: "I NO LIKE IT"

You get the picture I'm sure. Carson is certainly making his likes and dislikes clear to us. "I no like it" is his favorite thing to say, but "Doing?" and "What's that?" are close seconds. He is very curious about the world he lives in and what everyone is doing around him. He is a funny and amusing little guy!

Resourceful Mama

Dave was not impressed with this maneuver but as a mom you have to get creative. We were shopping at UTC and I bought a Halloween top and hair bows for Brooke for next year. Gotta love the sale prices after Halloween...I'm always looking for great deals to justify my addiction to buying my kids cute clothes! Before leaving, we ate lunch at Rubio's, and Carson spilled salsa all over his shirt. Knowing that he was wet and uncomfortable, but also sure that he would fall asleep on the way home, I knew I should change his shirt. The only extra shirt I had was Brooke's 12-18 month Halloween shirt. Carson loved that he was wearing She She's shirt and apparently it helped because he took a 2 hour nap.

Visit from Uncle Gavin & Liz

We had a great visit with Uncle Gavin and Liz. Carson loved having them at the house, and we loved that they were in charge while we got to go out on a hot date ; )

Daddy's Shoes

Carson was walking around in Dave's flip flops and got embarrassed when his feet came out. He makes some really funny facial expressions these days! Check out the link the video.

Playing in the Shower

We have been taking Carson into the bathroom with us in hopes that he will become interested and the adventure of potty training can begin. So far, he is way more interested in playing in the shower!

My Big Boy

I just couldn't resist taking a picture of Carson looking so cute and grown up. I can't believe he is about to be a big brother! I tried to get a smile out of him but he wasn't having it!

First Track

We bought Carson his first train track starter set. He enjoys putting his trains on it as much as he likes taking it apart too. Carson has also found a new use for the baby stroller we got him. It has turned into a "train carrier".

Valentine's Day

Clearly I am very behind on my postings. It had been awhile since I uploaded my pictures. We had a really fun Valentine's Day. We went to JW Tumbles, had breakfast at Champagne Bakery, got Carson a haircut, rode the choo choo at UTC and then Dave & I had a romantic dinner at home after Carson went to bed.

Table for Two

Marshall had a Valentine's Day party last month and the little lovebirds loved this little table. We are planning to make a trip to Ikea to get a little table and chairs for Carson and Brooke. We are hoping maybe he will be a better eater at a "grown up" table.

Pregnant Mamas

It was great to see Missy for her baby shower in the beginning of February. We are both so excited to be having baby girls with due dates less than two weeks apart. I only wish Miss lived closer! We are excited for Missy & Baby Girl Kunz to come to Orange County this summer for a long visit. Hopefully the girls we be good friends like their mamas!

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Carson's favorite word is "NO" after that it is "choo choo" and then "shoe" or "sock". In fact, shoe and sock were among his first ten words. It is so funny to see him go through his obsessions with trains and shoes after watching our neighbor, Austin, do the same thing about 9 months earlier. I can always depend on Austin to see the next stage that Carson will go through. For months now he has been trying to fit his feet into shoes of all sizes and is constantly bringing us shoes to put on our feet. He gets frustrated when he already has a pair of shoes on and doesn't understand why we can't put another pair on too.

Kissing Bandit

Carson is not as forthcoming with his kisses as he used to be. I'm lucky if I get a goodnight kiss these days! With Clare, it is a different story. She came over to play and was barely here two minutes before Carson went right up to her and planted a big kiss on her. Clare politely kissed him back the first time, but wasn't up for round 2.

Choo-Choo Mania

So we were warned that it would happen, but it still amazes me how Carson has become obsessed with "choo-choos" without any prompting or encouraging from us. If there is a train to spot, Carson will find it. He enjoys going for train rides at the UTC shopping center and "choo choo" is his favorite thing to say next to "no".

Meeting Cousin Jackson

Carson met his first cousin, Jackson Dening, on Sunday. Jackson is one month old and looks just like his daddy. He is an adorable little guy and we are so happy they live just 5 minutes away from us!

Brave Boy

Carson spent Monday at Children's Hospital for his asthma. We are all still learning how best to manage it and he was really struggling with it on Monday. The poor guy had to undergo some unpleasant things, but he was a trooper. Children's Hospital is a fantastic medical facility. They were very nice and gave Carson toys, books and coloring books to take home. As pleasant as the experience was, I hope it is our last trip there! He is feeling much better now.

Only in Southern California

I cannot believe it is 90 degrees in JANUARY! This afternoon Carson and I spent some time at the pool with friends. He loves the water park even more now that he can walk/run. I think he could have stayed all day long!

Obsessed with Smoothies

Carson's favorite thing to eat is a smoothie, which makes me happy since it is a great way to get him to eat lots of fruit. He is a super picky eater! I am obsessed with making smoothies with my new Magic Bullet. It is a fantastic invention! Carson decided to share his love for smoothies with his girlfriend. This Clare's first time drinking a smoothie and drinking from a straw. Clare was a big fan and unfortunately for her mama, Sara, she was wired the rest of the afternoon.

Our Little Architect

Carson loves knocking down towers and lately he has been really into building towers too. He is truly concentrating when he has his tongue out.
